I dreamt about my my new Taj duvet…

that I ordered from Rikshaw Design last night!  No joke.  I am that excited to put it on my bed!  Spring is officially here at Rikshaw- gorgeous bohemian bedding for adults and the most adorable block-printed kurtas, bloomers and sun hats for babies!  {And it IS supposed to be a sunny, spring-like week here in Northern California!  Wahoo!}

Enjoy Cupcakes

I love a vintage trailer and I love cupcakes….what an amazing combination!  Former pastry chef Amber Vander Vliet and husband/partner Kevin from Enjoy Cupcakes will bring their gorgeous {and delicious, I’m quite sure} cupcakes to your event in their ridiculously cute vintage turquoise and white trailer.  {If you are near enough to them in California’s Santa Ynez Valley, which sadly, we at Ruby Press are not.}

Their almost endless list of flavors includes mimosa, meyer lemon chardonnay, mexican chocolate, and strawberry lemonade…

And if you don’t have an event to lure the trailer to, visit Amber on weekends in the chic tasting lounge at Saarloos & Sons.

Elite Leather

We’re thrilled to announce our newest client Elite Leather, a stylish line of custom made furniture that everyone here at Ruby Press is coveting!  It’s a family run business {they just surpassed the 50 year milestone!} and each piece on their line is beautifully made with incredible attention to detail.  {And their custom furniture is typically ready in 2 to 4 weeks- how’s that for instant gratification?}  And don’t let the name fool you- sure, they offer over 200 leather options, but they also offer hundreds of fabric options as well {even great organic options!}.

Some of our favorite designers have created lines for Elite Leather- Nathan Turner, Lulu de Kwiatkowski, and now Angela Adams.  Don’t you just love??

I must apologize…

for the lack of fashion show coverage this season here on the blog.  We’ve been delightfully busy here in the office and I must admit, I haven’t been very inspired by the shows overall.  Now that Paris Fashion Week is over, I’m sure we’ll backtrack and find some looks we can’t help but share, but I’m afraid it’s that same feeling I got when I was an editor.  Sometimes it’s just that kind of season that “makes me crazy” {that’s good} or one that makes it feel more like a job.

Gimme Shelter

Have you checked out the blog Shelter yet? It’s incredibly chic and packed with design inspiration! The lovely Paloma introduced me to the blog and provided a link for a peek into Julie’s home {Julie is the woman behind the interior design firm and blog, Shelter}. Care to take a tour?

Bright as yellow

I love how craspedia can break up  a lush, romantic bouquet and make it slightly modern while adding incredible texture. Don’t they do the same for the Heidi braid?

Nesting Newbies

I just discovered a fantastic new digital shelter magazine and had to share. It’s called Nesting Newbies and is geared towards people “new to nesting and have no clue when it comes to cooking, entertaining, and decorating”–a great resource for those of us who have not quite mastered our way around the kitchen {I’m SO guilty!}. The affordable ideas for creative tabletops, cooking videos available on the website, and delicious food photography may just be the ticket to helping me overcome my fear of the kitchen!

Twenty years of Maison Martin Margiela

I’ve always viewed Martin Margiela’s designs as works of art that should be collected and appreciated as such.  So when I read that more than 1,000 vintage and one-of-a-kind pieces, owned by the late Marcia Berger are now on display at  Resurrection Vintage Clothing in New York and Los Angeles, I was elated!  300 select pieces are also featured for sale on design auction website 1stdibs.com.  With most pieces priced in the four-figures, this collection isn’t for everyone, but perusing the pieces online is a must-do for fashion lovers!
