Ice cream!

The Mission District in San Francisco houses many of my favorite places – La Taqueria, Pizzeria Delfina, Tartine, and too many more to count, but two of my most favorite things in the Mission are Bi-Rite Creamery and Humphry Slocombe. Secret Breakfast ice cream with cornflakes and bourbon, sundaes with sea salt and bergamot olive oil, snickerdoodle ice cream, tin roof sundaes with frosted peanuts – so many delicious concoctions all in one neighborhood. You won’t have to travel to the Mission for these treats much longer though, because both shops are releasing cookbooks this April – Bi-Rite’s Sweet Cream and Sugar Cones and Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream Book. Now everyone can enjoy the creamy salted caramel and Vietnamese coffee ice creams that make a trip to the Mission so worth it!

  1. No way. I indulge in way more salted caramel than I’d like to admit, and my beau totally turned me on to Vietnamese coffee. Once these cookbooks go live, I’m gonna have to hit up another annual pass at my Bikram studio.
