Broken English

I’m a sucker for movies shot in beautiful cities, Paris especially. I’m also a huge Parker Posey fan, so when I stumbled across Broken English in the new release section, I couldn’t wait to watch it!

Posey’s portrayal of an uninspired 30+ New Yorker with a bad dating rep is so convincing, she’s almost painful to watch at times. Until, of course, she meets a quirky (and dreamy!) Frenchman who changes everything. Check it out here.

The Heywood Building: Ruby Press HQ

I fell in love with our office space the minute I saw it. It’s in downtown Berkeley and is a historic building built in 1917 called the Heywood Building. Our PR agency fills the whole top floor of the white terra cotta gothic faced structure.

Designed by architect James Plachek, (who also designed the Berkeley Library on Shattuck Avenue) the building was featured in a 1919 issue of Architect and Engineer magazine!

Then and now…

It’s all about the packaging…

If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times. Santa Maria Novella products though, are as good as they look! I have been a fan for years.

Chic Ceramics

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with the work of two ceramicists…Stephanie Dearmond and Laura Zindel. I’m only a beginner collector, but there’s still time.

Luisa Love

Luisa Beccaria’s Fall 08 collection was all about frothy femininity. The softest pastels, the prettiest dresses, the frilliest details. Love it!

Blondie Unseen

“Blondie: Unseen 1976-1980″ is a collection of photographs from photographer Roberta Bayley, and is a must for Blondie die-hards. Over half of the photos in this book have never been published, and trust me, there are some amazing ones.

Debbie Harry has become an iconic figure due to her look in the late 70’s, and when she was recently asked in a recent interview about her personal style, she gave ALL of the credit to designer and friend Stephen Sprouse. She said that he simply told her what to wear, and as a friend, she trusted him. In the days of the personal celebrity stylists, it’s so refreshing to see someone give credit where credit is due.

Rose Cut Diamonds

I’m in love with rose cut diamonds. Usually found in Victorian and Georgian jewelry, they have a raw quality that I love. Our client Thalia Jewelry also uses them…I think they’re amazing!
