I knew Zooey Deschanel could croon after watching Elf. Her rendition of “Baby It’s Cold Outside” definitely made its rounds on my Christmas playlist (yes, I have one). So, naturally, I almost fell out of my chair when I found out that she’s releasing an album with M. Ward on March 18th! The album, She & Him, is a dreamy mix of retro folk and poppy tunes. Think Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins filtered through Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound…with a bit of Dusty Springfield. Preview tracks here!

Don’t feel bad, I have a Christmas Carol playlist too, which makes its way to my ipod around the end of November.
I am excited about this album. She has a very lovely voice. I heard she had a jazz band too, which amazed me also.
