Espadrilles Etc.

Summer means espadrilles, and espadrilles mean summer. To me, they are warm weather classics- always chic and très European. There are sooo many stylish choices on the Spanish espadrille site Espadrilles Etc., it’s creating a bit of a problem for me. How to choose?

My favorites:

{Loles}

{Anastassia}

{Claude}

{Magali}

{Manolas}

{Phoebe}

{Mimosa}

    (sigh). In my tween years in Carmel there was a shop run by this really freaky old guy with long fingernails - he sold the basic espadrilles in every color of the rainbow, some chic striped options (including a VERY 1985 seafoam green and peach version I wore with preppy pride) and some ankle wraps. Solids were $10, stripes were $11 and the ankle wraps $15. These competed with jelly shoes for my fashion attention (and usually won because I wasn’t crazy about jelly feet-sweat, and jellies were $22). And although inflation, gas prices and the weak dollar have caused prices to double, I surely will be buying a pair from this website for nostalgia’s sake. Thanks Melissa!
