Neptune Beach

One of the things that I love about Alameda isn’t even here anymore…It’s Neptune Beach, the old beachside amusement park. It was built in 1917 and was called the Coney Island of the West. The entrance was literally two blocks from our house. I can just imagine how amazing it must have been. It almost makes me ill that it was ripped down in 1939.
