DeLauer’s lives on!

DeLauer’s Super Newsstand is just that. It’s a huge newsstand (you can find just about any magazine you’re looking for- a real ‘candy store’ for someone like me) in downtown Oakland that was about to close its door this week when at the very last moment was saved by the love of its patrons. They’ve been open for 101 years and I hope they make it another hundred.

As a magazine tramp…this is certainly GREAT news! Hooray for the Oakland patrons (sounds like a football team?)!!! If I ever get down there (please, oh please!) this will be a MUST stop!

I’m heading into Oakland today and hoping I’ll have time to check this out–I *love* old newsstands! Thanks for featuring it.
