I pass the castle-like Julia Morgan-designed Berkeley City Club everyday on the drive home from work. Isn’t it the most amazing place? Take a tour here, or stay a night when you’re in town. Maybe I should join…

Eh…nuthin’ that a little drywall and spackle couldn’t improve upon. And you could drain and cover the pool and have one hell of a storage facility.
Or, (e.g., Seattle!), you could, say, admire and elevate the heritage of amazing architecture!
What a beautiful building, Melissa! It must have taken two months to build a place like that
That pool is amazing!
UB- Haha! Totally. I couldn’t dig up a good photo of the full exterior, but as you can well imagine, it is truly divine. I think I want to join so I can pretend (in my own mind at least) that I live there. Dillusional? Maybe…
I would like those doors for the front of my next house, pleaseandthankyou.

If im not mistaken (sad but such an icon in my world) mr.Peet had his memorial at the berkeley C.C. not too long ago (PeetsCoffee&tea) Im a huge fan of the coffee but not of funerals… thanks for the nice post. her work is great!
