Happy Thanksgiving!

Portraits

Michelle at MA Belle turned me on to this book through her blog. I’m dying to thumb through it and steal some inspiration for a wall of portraits in my hall.

Love that this exists!

What to make for Thanksgiving?

Sam and I are having “Thanksgiving for Two” this year and he insists that I don’t make the traditional turkey dinner. Instead, he wants me to make something I really love eating… I’m thinking maybe homemade chicken pot pie?

Aren’t these…

the most charming cuff links? Forget gifting these to Grandpa. I would totally wear them myself!

Six Things…

Cece at Project EcoArt tagged Ruby Press for “Six Unimportant Things that make Me Happy”, so here goes…in no particular order:

#1. State Fairs, Carnivals, Amusement Parks…It’s no secret to anyone that knows me- I love myself a good carnival. And the best ride, by FAR, is the Zipper. Scarier than any roller coaster I’ve even been on, my sister and I live for it.

#2. Sweets- cakes, candies, cotton candy, ice cream, gelato, I love them all!

#3. Flea Markets- I cannot tell a lie- the day I spent at Brimfield was hands down, one of the best days of my life. I also adored the old NYC 26th Street Flea Market and I am tickled to live so close to the amazing Alameda Flea Market.

#4. Champagne- I don’t think champagne should be saved only for special occasions…

#5. Garden Roses- We had garden roses at our wedding, and there’s nothing more gorgeous or fragrant. Luckily, here in California they’re everywhere.

#6. Dogs- Sam thinks I like dogs more than people. Well, maybe….?

P.S. Dogs are clearly very important- oops!  It’s so hard to find things that make you happy that you can deem UNimportant…

Dancing in my head

Although trimmed trees and eggnog are nice…my favorite holiday tradition involves tutus and a Sugar Plum Fairy. I just received my tickets for The San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker performance in the mail, which means the holiday season is right around the corner!
