Heeley’s Figuier

I’m trying our Heeley’s Figuier today, which is such a lush, delicious fig scent. I’ve always been a fan of Diptyque’s fig fragrance, but this is very different. It has a bit more green to it, if that makes sense. I highly recommend! {I am trying a new fragrance every day this week…}

Lemons, lemons, lemons!!

We have SO many ripe meyer lemons on the tree in our yard right now, it’s insane. Do you have any favorite recipes using lemons?

New Year, New Scent

I am one of those women with a collection of perfume bottles on my dresser. I’m obsessed with fragrance- whether it’s in a soap, candle-or even floor cleaner! Right now, I’m dying to find a new perfume that I just love and that’s individual, that no one else easily recognizes. Of course, the packaging must be chic as well.

I decided to order a few samples of different fragrances that sounded appealing from Lucky Scent, who I have to say gives the most poetic descriptions of each fragrance and carries so many indie and unknown (at least to most Americans) brands. I’m wearing a different scent each day and I’ll see which I like best. (And which Sam likes best!)

Today I’m trying Hyle by Farmacia S.S. Annunziata dal 1561. Notes include lemon, bergamot, myrtle, lavendar, and ginger. Lucky Scent’s description is much better than mine, but I’d describe it as a fresh, sexy fragrance that could be worn by a man à la 1960. It smells like Don Draper should smell…know what I mean?

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas to all!! xx All of us at Ruby Press

The Sweetest Things…

I feel like a proud parent- two of our clients are nominated for Daily Candy’s Sweetest Things! Plover Organic for the Nest category (Everywhere), and Crown & Crumpet for the Bite category (San Francisco). Of course, I think they are both tops- as any good parent would. And if you agree, you can vote for both by clicking here and here.

Congrats to the ladies of Plover Organic and Amy and Chris from Crown & Crumpet! And good luck! xx

Is it snowing where you are?

Nope, it’s not here in California and I’m so jealous.  One of our clients in Seattle is enjoying a snow day today and another in New York told me that it’s just gorgeous in the city right now.  But I think I’d most like to be in this reindeer’s sleigh!!

A Chanel treat for you!

Remember the Chanel film I wrote about in this post last week? {The black and white film about Mlle Chanel that Karl Lagerfeld created and showed before his Pre-Fall 2009 collection in Paris?} Well, here it is!
