I dreamed I was…

I was lucky enough to stumble upon this amazing blog that features an incredible collection of vintage advertising, magazine covers, and postcards. After scrolling through the beautiful images for an extended period of time (it’s addicting!), I fell in love with this vintage Maidenform advertisement.

I can’t decide where to go first…

To the carnival?? Circus? Pageant? This vintage trolley sign from Bournemouth, England is likely from a festival in the late 40’s/early 50’s. {Learn more about these here.} I’m already jealous of the lucky person who scores this.

Shhh…pass it on

Ladybug Art {my sister’s company} is offering free shipping now thru December 31st…just use code FREESHIP08.  {Are you not familiar?  They are the sweetest handpainted wooden hangers for baby and kids clothes…she has so many designs to choose from- from tattoos to sweets to 80’s motifs.}

What recession?

Karl Lagerfeld showed an luxurious Russian-inspired Pre-Fall 09 collection for Chanel this week in Paris. The runway show was in a dilapidated old theatre {gorgeous, I’m sure} and followed a 10-minute black and white film that the Kaiser created about Coco Chanel’s early years. {Wouldn’t you love to see that?}

Peppermint Semifreddos

I made peppermint semifreddos for a Christmas dinner party dessert a few years ago, and they were divine. I think I’ll try this recipe from 101 Cookbooks this weekend.

I’m not sure if you noticed

but you can now search our blog through categories…go straight to LA MODE for fashion inspiration, or browse through YUMMY TREATS when you’re feeling a little hungry. {See the column to the left.} Hope you find it helpful!

Fruits

I absolutely love over-exaggerated Japanese street fashion and flipping through Fruits. When I stumbled across this Flickr group, I could not stop obsessing over the elaborate outfits that Harajuku girls put together.

Just lounging

These shots by photographer Gemma Booth make me yearn for the kind of long, summer afternoons that are perfect for girly lingerie. Love the contrast of magenta and green.
