Summer cocktails chez Davis

A few weeks ago, Sam and I had friends over and I wanted to make a cocktail with fruits and herbs from our yard.  After a little experimenting I came up with two cocktails that we just loved.  Sam named them The Penthouse and The Falcon Crest (double ha!), with the former being MY favorite.  Here are the recipes if you’d like to try them… Enjoy the rest of your summer weekend!

The Penthouse:

Muddle a 3 inch sprig of rosemary in 1 1/2 oz of Hendrick’s Gin.  Add to a cocktail shaker with crushed ice and add the juice of 1/2 a meyer lemon, and  1 1/2 oz of lavender simple syrup.  Shake vigorously.  Pour into glass (with the ice) and add approx 1 oz of crushed strawberry.  Stir slightly.

The Falcon Crest:

Follow the above recipe, but use 2 fresh mint leaves instead of the rosemary.

Whoa, those sound AWESOME! I feel like I should have a fancy dress-up party and serve these. The lavender and rosemary combo must be divine!
