John Hughes

John Hughes’ teen movies from the 80’s were pivotal in my life…  My favorites were, and still are, Sixteen Candles {the song “If You Were Here” still gives me a chill}, Pretty in Pink {Blaine??  ICK!  And don’t you agree that James Spader’s character must have been the inspiration for Chuck Bass? }, The Breakfast Club {every line in that movie is perfection}.  So sad that John Hughes died at the young age of 59 today.

Oh how I loved John Hughes films! The song from Sixteen Candles – If You Were Here – still gives me chills too! I remember when the Pretty in Pink trailer came out I was so excited to see it – watching it again just now completely brought me back to my youth! Thanks!

I feel like a part of my childhood died right along with him. Sixteen Candles will always be near and dear to my heart. Where is my Jake Ryan?
