but sometimes I think engagement photos can be a bit, well, saccharine sweet. This is one that I just love…wish I had a photo like this of me and Sam!

I’m off to Disneyland for the weekend and I’m SO excited! It’s been years-seriously- since I’ve been.
I found this old picture of me posing with my big sister. My mother allowed us one Disney tchotchke each trip and we just had to have these sunglasses. Of course, she ripped her Mickey off…

We’ve all been snatching up ‘bandits’ from The 2 Bandits- who cares if fall isn’t here yet? { I just love a boot with a pair of short shorts, don’t you? } Here’s your chance to pick a pair for yourself- completely free. No charge. Nada. Just comment on this post, tell us which pair is your favorite and why you love them. Erica and Tamar from The 2 Bandits will pick their favorite answer on August 31st, when we will announce the lucky girl who won. Good luck ladies! xx
P.S. If you don’t know what ‘bandits’ are, let me fill you in: they are chic bands {in most cases, but they also make drapey chain ‘bandits’ as well, which I looove…} engineered to fit any size calf and stay gripped to your boots. They change the look of your tired old boots in an instant. And here’s an adorable video they made that shows just how to wear them…
played along for a little game of Pied Piper. In case you haven’t seen it yet, click here. {Don’t you just love Erin Fetherston’s moody little black and white films? See past films here.}

Thanks Christy!! xx
Sorry I disappeared…how can summer get too busy for a little blogging fun? Oh, and are any of you going to the Blog Out Loud event on Sunday here in San Francisco?? If so, see you there!! xx

We’re so excited to announce a new Ruby Press client- SenSpa! Housed in a World War I army barrack in San Francisco’s Presidio, this spa is like no other…they offer a truly holistic approach toward wellness. Imagine top-notch estheticians, an amazing acupuncturist, a master aromatherapist, a certified rolfer, and Wellness Coach all under one historic roof. {And that’s just the beginning…}

I don’t know what it is lately, but come good weather and all I crave is sweets… which isn’t exactly conducive to a bikini summer (thank god one-piece swimsuits have made a comeback). Nevertheless, being the last person on the planet who would go ever go vegan (or vegetarian), my discovery of vegan chocolate chip cookies have convinced me that perhaps I could survive on a no-meat-nor-dairy-diet.
While the search is still on for that perfect homemade recipe – I welcome recommendations, both Trader Joe’s and Peet’s Coffee and Tea offer vegan chocolate chip cookies that are not only scrumptious, but leaves you feeling guilt-free after consuming one, two, or even three…

John Hughes’ teen movies from the 80’s were pivotal in my life… My favorites were, and still are, Sixteen Candles {the song “If You Were Here” still gives me a chill}, Pretty in Pink {Blaine?? ICK! And don’t you agree that James Spader’s character must have been the inspiration for Chuck Bass? }, The Breakfast Club {every line in that movie is perfection}. So sad that John Hughes died at the young age of 59 today.

P.S. Click on the movie titles above to see the original- and extremely dated!!- trailers for the movies!
