Make your own candy bars!

I was just making a baking date with one of my favorite 4 year olds today, but now I’m thinking maybe we’ll make candy bars?  Chow features four classics and they range in difficulty from easy to hard.  But these, my friend, will not be wasted on trick-or-treaters!

Alameda Antiques by the Bay

My dear friend Lynn just told me that the Alameda Antiques by the Bay {a.k.a. Alameda Flea Market} is canceled this Sunday, November 1st, and potentially in jeopardy for the future.  More info here.  What sad news for us all!  I’ll keep you posted on any news I hear…

UPDATE: the flea market is BACK ON.  Not sure why their website posted that it was off…  YAY!

I came across this artist’s work on The Neo Trad this past weekend.  Don’t you just love?

In the spirit

Now THIS is the kind of Halloween decor I can get behind! How fun would it be to cover your wine and liquor bottles with these this Saturday night? The labels are part of Martha Stewart’s collection for Grandin Road.

Mexican Wedding

After seeing Kara and Ray’s incredibly gorgeous wedding on Wedding Nouveau, I cannot resist posting a few photos… It makes me wish Sam and I had gotten married in Mexico!  To see more either check out Wedding Nouveau’s post or go straight to Aaron Delesie, the photographer’s site.

Bottega Louie

Oh, Los Angeles, why must you taunt me?  I am long overdue for a trip but after my friend Jen told me about Bottega Louie, I may not be able to hold off too much longer…

Rubie Green NYC party

Just got photos back from our Rubie Green event in New York earlier this month and thought you’d like to see a few!  Michelle Adams, founder and designer of Rubie Green, shared her eco-style tips with guests while sipping fair trade and organic wines and nibbling on yummy organic sweets.  Calypso Home invited us to have the party at their Soho store, and the stylish space was filled with a mix of chic editors, bloggers and Rubie Green fans.

I’m in love with this photography website and not just because the photographer is my boyfriend…okay, so maybe I’m a little biased, but I have yet to meet someone who doesn’t swoon over his gorgeous and sometimes abstract images of  the natural world.  This image, one of my favorites, was taken in Greenland.  Next on the list is a trip to Antarctica {but I’m hoping for somewhere warmer, preferably with a beach!}.
