Alameda Antiques by the Bay

My dear friend Lynn just told me that the Alameda Antiques by the Bay {a.k.a. Alameda Flea Market} is canceled this Sunday, November 1st, and potentially in jeopardy for the future.  More info here.  What sad news for us all!  I’ll keep you posted on any news I hear…

UPDATE: the flea market is BACK ON.  Not sure why their website posted that it was off…  YAY!

    Evidentially, they told the vendors it was canceled- and posted it on their site- and then told them that it was still on…Seems like something is going on with them. That in itself is terrifying to me!

    Good! I have never been and have been wanting to check it out. I was nervous for a sec that it would be gone before I could.

    There are two partners that put on this show: Antiques by the Bay Inc. and Auctions by the Bay Inc. The administrative partner is Antiques by the Bay Inc. and it is they who have contacted vendors indicating the show is canceled. The other partner, Auctions by the Bay Inc. claims these are rumors and that they will hold a show irregardless.
    Those are the facts as of this morning, 10.29.2009. Either way it is an unfortunate turn of events for all.

    Michaan says the show will go on???

    Antiques by the bay (who organizes the entire event) says no show.

    Phew! One of my favorite flea markets in all the world. I seriously need to move back to the bay! Perhaps I can talk my fiance into law school out west… Hmmm.

    I’m Sandra Michaan, Vice President of Antiques By The Bay, Inc. and I Co-Founded the Alameda Point Antiques and Collectibles Faire. The Show and Company are still operational despite the rumors! Tell all of your patrons & friends. Spread the word throughout your fellow antique community.

    The December show for Dec. 6th is STILL ON and we had a show (as was always scheduled) last weekend and it was a success. Sorry for the confusion. More information and legal news will be public record shortly.

    I have noticed fewer vendors each time I go to the famous Pasadena flea market each time I go – I hate this stupid bad economy!
