For most people I know, it’s always a struggle to pick out their perfect outfit for the day. For me, I have the every day dilemma of what fragrance to wear. There are so many factors to choose from; my mood, the weather, my plans for the day… There are so many great choices out there and Kristina Hultkrantz of Emma Kisstina has made adorable illustrations of signature scents. What did I choose today? One of my all time favorites, Miss Dior Cherie.
Sometimes I’m a tad jealous that Angela still has her wedding planning ahead of her…I really enjoyed planning ours, but I wish I could just do it over and over again, each time a different style- but same guy of course!! This wedding created by Duet Weddings, shot by Jose Villa, and found on Once Wed, feels so wood nymph to me…love it.
After spotting this book on Mrs. Lilien Styling House and doing a little digital page flipping, I’m anxious to get my hands on a copy. My Mother’s Clothes by photographer Jeannette Montgomery Barron is a tribute to her late mother, a fixture in Atlanta society who tragically developed Alzheimer’s Disease. Part memoir, photo essay and fashion journal all jumbled into one, the book became a way to spark her mother’s fleeting memories and document her fashion legacy. Watch the book trailer here.
I am a huge fan of everything Diane von Furstenberg puts her genius touch on so you can imagine my excitement when she announced that she would be collaborating with Spring Global and launching a home collection in the Spring of 2011. My house is ready for a little DVF aesthetic! If her home collection is anything like the rug collection she did with The Rug Company in 2006, fashion fanatics are in for a real treat! Here are a few of my favorites from the DVF rug collection. Simply gorgeous!
Attention all pregnant readers in the SF Bay Area! We are working with style expert/author Amy Tara Koch on her upcoming Bump It Up book signing/party at the W Hotel on May 26th and take it from me, a woman with a 13 lb pregnant belly!, this will be an event not to miss!
I’ve read the book and it’s the cutest guide to staying your chic self while your belly is rapidly expanding…sketches from great designers like Donna Karan and DVF, as well as tips from NY fashion editors, some of them, coincidentally, my old friends!
Of course Amy {who is hilarious, by the way} will be signing books, but there will also be pampering spa treatments from Bliss Spa, skincare treats from Mama Mio, a “Faux Glow” bar from Lancome {Amy swears that the ‘pregnancy glow’ is an urban legend!}, bra fitting and “4th trimester” shapewear seminar brought to you by Wacoal, car seat and stroller demos by Britax, and of course yummy treats in the way of cupcakes from Sprinkles and delish mocktails.
{Just RVSP to rsvpwsfevents@whotels.com to join us- I’ll be there! And you don’t have to be pregnant to come, of course…}
Stick a fork in me. I’m done. Between watching Melissa’s adorable baby bump grow week by week and having an amazing baby lifestyle client, I just can’t help but notice… (okay, fawn) over some of the baby apparel and accessories that are out there. Especially when they have have a sense of irony. These metallic driving mocs are so cute I’d wear them on my fingers!
