It’s funny…the last time I shopped in a Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique I told Sam that it reminded me so much of shopping at Fiorucci in the 80’s. Fiorucci was number one on my list on my first trip to NY as a teenager…I was dying to buy jewelry by Maripol, who was credited with Madonna’s jewelry back in the early 80’s. Well, clearly I wasn’t the only one making that association because Marc Jacobs has collaborated with Maripol to create a line which is sold in the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutiques. Think rubber bracelets, chain necklaces and tees which range in price from $4 to $35. Love it!!
After learning about this line through the lovely Apartment #34, I immediately clicked to shop and stumbled upon their dreamy spring 2010 campaign video (which I’ve played several times!). Loving the modern Bardot model and the glimpses that we get of her Parisian escapades.
If anyone is scrambling to buy a VERY last-minute Christmas gift, allow me point you in the right direction. I’ve been dying to check out photographer Lauren Dukoff’s book Family since it released a few months ago. It features candid yet striking shots of musicians Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Entrance, Bat for Lashes, Vetiver, and many more–an incredibly creative “family” of folks that are pretty stylish both on and off the stage.
Pedro Almodovar’s new movie Broken Embraces is coming out on Friday and I can’t wait! {Shot in the 1950’s style American noir and starring Almodovar’s muse Penelope Cruz.}
This photo reminds me of a scene out of Breakfast at Tiffany’s…
This gorgeous video led me to Vimeo, which I spent some time on this weekend. Love these Super 8 films- and I bet you will too. Rainy Day makes me actually long for rain {and for Europe!}, and these charming home movies are grouped by years- 1954, 1955-1956, and 1957-1960.
