This weekend…

was the first rain of the season in the SF Bay Area…I think the last rain we saw was in May?! It’s okay though- perfect excuse for buying these gorgeous aqua blue wellies {exclusively made by Hunter for British store Fortnum & Mason} and getting a roaring fire going in the fireplace!

In Love with Lorick

It is no secret that I am obsessed with Gossip Girl and if I could trade wardrobes with anyone in the world, it would be Blair Waldorf. When I discovered that Abigail Lorick was the mastermind behind Eleanor Waldorf’s “designs” on the show, I fell in love with her ENTIRE Spring ‘09 collection. Here are a few of my favorites!

Obsolete

I was introduced to this amazing store in Venice, CA, by Uncle Beefy

{…don’t you just love it??}

Peek…

We are thrilled to announce a new addition to the Ruby Press roster- Peek…Aren’t You Curious!

Brainchild of ex-VP’s from Lucky Brand and Gap, Peek…Aren’t You Curious is a new baby and children’s store (five in the western part of the country- to start!) that is so chic and kid-friendly, that both parents and kids will love to shop there. In fact, I don’t even have kids and I’m trying to squeeze myself into the largest girls’ size! {Seriously. I am not joking.}

They have created six different lines for boys and girls, from infant through size 10, that are sold on their website and also in top stores across the country like Barney’s. {Below is a taste of the Fleur des Champs collection.} Of course, their collections are sold in the Peek…Aren’t You Curious stores- alongside a well-edited assortment of other fashion favorites like Wellies, Converse, chic letterpress notecards, and gorgeous children’s books- some of which are from my childhood!

A Match Made in Retail Heaven

I must admit that I have spent my share of time waiting in line outside H&M in Union Square for the launch of both the Viktor & Rolf and Roberto Cavalli collections. Although I own amazing pieces from both, I think the Comme des Garcons collaboration with H&M is the best yet. I am excited to check it out November 13th!

A look from the Fall '08 collection

Lets hope the H&M line is just as fun as this look from the Comme des Garcons Fall '08 collection!

Roberta Freymann

This is one store worth trekking uptown for- the Roberta Freymann store on the Upper East Side stocks the most gorgeous globally-inspired designs and finds from all over the world. I found sexy sequin knit tops, rhinestone chandelier earrings that were just about complete perfection, and a bib necklace that would make every outfit special.

Clothes-Pin Sample Sale

This is a good one…and it’s online.

We’re back…

From our Spring 09 press appointments in New York. It was a whirlwind of a trip, but we still managed to squeeze in a bit of time for ourselves…

I always make a quick pit stop at ABC Carpet, which was in holiday mode, and as magical as ever. We had a relaxing lunch before hopping back on the plane home at Pipa at ABC.
