Love for the twenties

Every year, I wait until the very last minute to throw a Halloween costume together, but not this time! I’ve decided to dress as a flapper and now all I need is the perfect black wig to finish off my look.

Carolina and Mick

Love this shot of the two of them in Mustique circa 1974.

Halloween is coming…

and wouldn’t you love to be wearing this Marie-Therese costume? {Quick history lesson: Marie-Therese was Marie Antoniette’s daughter.} Well, you could be wearing this frothy confection if you’re lucky enough to wear a size 3T to 5T! {Maybe you have a daughter??} Grosgrain is giving it away this week! Winner announced on Sunday…

Dinner at Freeman’s

was scrumptious!! Hidden at the end of a little alley on the Lower East Side, Freeman’s is a most charming little spot.

Why is it that New York always just “gets it” with atmosphere? (And these photos do not do it justice.) It’s time like this that I really miss the city.

I thought I’d seen-

every shot of Marilyn Monroe, but aren’t these photographs of her when she was young just gorgeous? And so modern!

More Moore!

I was just recently turned on to Fancast, which is a website with oodles of free tv shows (from The Alfred Hitchcock Hour to Gossip Girl to Mary Tyler Moore!) and movies (from Some Like it Hot to Metropolitan to Xanadu!)…SO fun.

Vintage Bunny

I was inspired by this Vain and Vapid post and came across all of these vintage Playboy covers from the 50’s and 60’s. Aren’t they amazing?? (And you know I can’t resist blogging about vintage magazine covers!)

Deco Diamonds

I love vintage engagement rings. They remind me of my grandmother’s hands. The old European cuts in deco settings make me especially crazy!
