Melissa, Sam and the girls surprised me by throwing a party- and I really was completely surprised!! We gorged on Teacake cupcakes {one of my absolute favorites!} and champagne {no Ruby Press party would be complete without it!} and pulled ourselves away from our computers for a bit. For dinner, I went to Plum in Oakland {at Kate’s direction}, and went absolutely insane over the food!!  If you’re local, check it out- and be sure and order yourself a grapefruit gimlet!

This show’s theme is vintage travel {think Pan-Am} with a costume contest, live band, and cocktails by St. George Spirits for shoppers on Friday’s preview night.  {Not to mention first dibs!} But not to worry if you can’t make it on Friday night- with 50+ booths, there will be plenty to go around for Saturday shoppers.

Their freshly baked cookies- still warm from the oven- sandwiching a creamy scoop of ice cream is absolute heaven. I went here with two girlfriends last week and we couldn’t stop squealing in delight!  And did I mention they’re just $2 a pop?

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the opening of this Mexican restaurant and Friday is the day! Serving Oaxacan fare and drinks by SF’s Bon Vivants, we know it will be our new favorite spot in the neighborhood. I think there’s a plate of rock cod tacos waiting for me now!

Tucked in a little alley in Oakland’s trendy Temescal neighborhood, this gorgeous little shop is an absolute gem! Terrariums, taxidermy and intoxicating fragrances; I think I’ve found my new go-to gift shop.
