The canopy effect

How gorgeous is this bed in designer Windsor Smith’s boudoir? I’m in awe of the illusion created by the repeated silk fabric in the canopy, wall and bed. The round silver pillows and sunburst mirror play up the plushy Moroccan tent vibe, which I adore.

Chocolates for the Queen

Prestat is a line of gorgeous {and delicious, I hear!} line of hand-made chocolates from England and the only place you can get them in the states is at our dear Crown & Crumpet in Ghirardelli Square.  {As of today!}  Isn’t the packaging perfection?  Word has it they have a Royal Warrant to provide their exquisite chocolates to none other than the Queen…

P.S. Just in time for the annual Chocolate Festival at Ghirardelli Square!

Only the beginning…

I have read more than one depressing “goodbye summer” posts in the last day or two….  Luckily, here in Northern California, we’re just getting started!  {Sorry, I don’t mean to rub it in!}  Our summers start getting hot in August and go through the end of October.  For a summer-lover like me, that’s a great thing.  Hope you’re having a fun long weekend!!  xx

Hope Sandoval

I have been a longtime fan of Berkeley’s own Hope Sandoval, from way back in the old Mazzy Star days.  {For one of my faves, click here.}  Did you know that she has a new solo album- Through the Devil Softly- coming out on September 29th and has also released US tour dates…?

Aisu Pop

I discovered many delicious plates at the Eat Real Festival in Oakland this past weekend, but I was ecstatic to find the Aisu Pop popsicle stand.  It was deliriously warm out and my melting body woke right up at the sight of the colorful frozen treats in flavors like Thai Iced Tea+Sweet Potato and Strawberry+Coconut.  Just to get another taste at my favorite, the Honeydew+Wasabi popsicle, I might have to make my way out to the Davis Farmers Market where founder Jaymes Luu doles out these refreshing bites every Saturday.

I am loving these one of a kind pendants made from vintage poker chips and bits of ephemera…  Snatch them up quickly, because they are only 12 bucks a piece. {And see how beautifully they come packaged here.}
