J.Mendel Spring 2010

I worked with J.Mendel when I was an editor, and back then they were strictly furriers.  I’m so happy they branched out into apparel- this season’s evening wear is breathtaking.  Don’t you agree?

Ladies of SF

I’ve recently come across some great blogs by stylish SF women that take a personal approach to their blogs…

Oh Hello: I haven’t officially met Logan, but this adorable San Franciscan’s blog {and her shot of her brushing her teeth} puts a smile on my face.

And The Wife of an Artist is a lover of food, fonts and fashion and I am right there with her.

Hooray Chris Benz!

Chris Benz clearly feels the same way I do about the recession and fashion.  It’s a time when you need to give women something they don’t have, something that makes them fall in love with fashion again.  And I’m smitten…

Glass Candy

Up until two weekends ago, I had no clue Glass Candy existed as a band, and not just as some cutesy decorative piece for say, a coffee table.

After hearing them perform live at an opening party in Las Vegas for MAGIC - they were so so so good – I couldn’t help but purchase their entire album on iTunes.

Hailing from Portland, Glass Candy’s sound is a blend of electro-pop with disco and rock. Lead singer Ida No {who is as cute as a button} and guitarist/ synthesist Johnny Jewel compose the eccentric group.  Listen to one of their songs here.

A Single Man

Have you heard about Tom Ford’s directorial debut?  It’s called A Single Man starring Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, and Ginnifer Goodwin and it just debuted at the Venice Film Festival.  See the gorgeous trailer here

Early trends from the runway

The Spring 2010 shows have only just begun, but early trends {that I’m loving} include structure, shorts, color, transparency, and chic one-piece swimwear with a retro nod, as illustrated below…
