American Fashion Designers at Home

This September, Assouline will be releasing American Fashion Designers at Home, a sneak peek into the private spaces of more than 100 members of the CFDA. Designers like Kate Spade, Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenburg, Derek Lam, and Donna Karan are all featured. I can’t wait for it to come out!

Elite Leather on One Kings Lane

Set your alarms for this Friday AM at 8:00 AM PST, because our custom furniture client Elite Leather will be selling some of my favorite pieces- at about 50% off the retail price!- on One Kings Lane!  {I ordered the Belcourt in a chocolate linen fabric for the nursery, and I’m about to order the Old Course tufted ottoman for our living room- just can’t decide which fabric I want…or maybe leather??}

Bonnie and Clyde

I’ve been trying to work some old classics into our Netflix queue. This weekend was Bonnie and Clyde. I forgot how stunning Faye Dunaway was {Warren Beatty wasn’t too hard on the eyes either}-that perfect sixties hairdo, the subtle cat eye and berets… loved it! A fun summer flick for sure. Watch the original trailer that I dug up here.

Saipua’s Basil Soap

Have you tried Saipua’s newest Basil soap?  I just treated myself to one today and my whole bathroom smells DIVINE.

Book Keepers

I was roaming the busy streets of downtown San Francisco this past Saturday and I decided to slow it down and take a stroll though the San Francisco Public Library. It got me thinking about all of the incredible libraries around the world- their breathtaking design, astonishing architecture and of course- their amazing assortment of books. I wanted to share some photographs of my most favorite libraries I have discovered in my travels.  Simply magnificent!   {Top to Bottom: George Peabody Library in Baltimore, Maryland, National Library of Ireland in Dublin, Wren Library at Trinity College in Cambridge, England }

Chic shading

I just love a retro sun umbrella! Don’t you? When I have my fantasy swimming pool and yard, one of these beauties will surely have to follow.

Little Horns

I’m a firm believer that style shouldn’t be sacrificed for function. Case in point… it took me until the end of last summer to find the perfect retro-inspired metal fan {anything to avoid those plastic eye sores}. The same goes for attractive speakers. These Little Horns have the sculptural appeal of an antique record player and can be hooked up to an ipod, MP3 player and computer. Sold!

Joyeux Quatorze Juillet!

It’s Bastille Day and I am so excited because I can bring out my inner French girl in full force!  {Ten days after the 4th of July and I can still wear blue, white and red!}  This day will include many Franco-fun activities…eating breakfast at Tartine, viewing collections from the Musée d’Orsay at the de Young Museum , enjoying macarons at Paulette, and hanging out with friends at Belden Place.  San Francisco will be transformed to my own version of Paris.  Vive la France!
