Convert

Last week I told you about Wee Gallery- one of the two new clients we added to our roster this month…  The other is Convert, a boutique on Berkeley’s Fourth Street {one of the best East Bay shopping destinations, for those of you not from the area}.  The shop sells covetable {and well priced!} men’s and women’s clothing and is the brainchild of Randy Brewer.  Randy is committed to buying sustainable lines- and when he finds a line he loves that’s not, he convinces them to change their ways in order to be sold at Convert.  {Which could mean a myriad of things- using organic fabrics, using local resources, manufacturing with more sustainable practices….you get the idea.}

Belle Heir Vintage Baby

Well, I’m several days past my due date now, which means relaxing at home through these last few uncomfortable days and getting excited about our little guy’s arrival!  I have been spending some quality time on a few really great ‘mom’ blogs- and Bloesem Kids is just such an amazing source of inspiration across the board.  I just came across this vintage baby clothing shop last night and…wow!  What gorgeous vintage clothes for babies!  I had to share…

Wee Gallery

We’ve added two new clients to our roster this month- one of which is Wee Gallery.  You might be familiar- husband and wife team Dave and Surya launched the company with their “art  cards“ - graphic black and white cards to stimulate baby’s brain development {and they are pretty amazing looking too!}.  They have expanded the line to include a range of products for babies and children that are equal parts style and function.  We LOVE the wall decals, wrapped canvases, and books.  They’ll soon be launching some super cool new products that we can’t wait to tell you about….but all in good time!

Marguerite

Chelsea, I love you for introducing me to the most charming shop Marguerite, but kind of hate you, because it’s in Portland and I have no idea when I will ever get there!!  {Just kidding about the hate part.}  You’ll find this shop in the Sellwood neighborhood, but sadly ladies, you will not find it online.  (It’s at 1520 SE Bybee Blvd, 503.234.7202.}  Each season has a theme and summer is ‘Eastern Seashore’.  Thank you owner Daisy Phillips for creating such a beautiful gem of a store- next, won’t you come to the Bay Area?

Anthology Magazine

Wow- a new lifestyle/shelter magazine - and in PRINT {gasp!}?!   It was founded by two incredibly talented women I think the world of – Meg Mateo Ilasco {who has included me in her book Craft Inc.- she’s a sweetie} and Anh-Minh Le {who has written about several of our clients in the past and is a doll to work with!}.    Congrats to you both on Anthology!!   Everyone here at Ruby Press is just thrilled about your launch.  xx

P.S. Watch this film to get yourself in the mood and buy an issue here.  {Get yourself a sneak peek of the premiere issue here, which made me even hungrier to get that issue in my hands!}

Mason Jar Décor

My roommate and I love collecting vintage Mason jars and we usually use them as cups, however, this time I decided to get a little more creative… I put my Q-Tips, cotton balls and toothbrush in three different sized jars and set them up on my counter top inside my bathroom et viola- my bathroom underwent a small but exceptionally charming change!  This past weekend I bought some flowers and set a few in a smaller jar. Do you have any other ideas for creative uses for my growing Mason jar collection?
