These charming “tea wit” cards were created by the multi-talented Susan Arnot, who I was lucky enough to run into at a charming Boxing Day party this past weekend. I recently bought one of her Christmas cards here…which was so beautiful it was hard to part with!

We ended 2009 with the Ruby Press Christmas Party at Crown & Crumpet yesterday…yay!! {And don’t be fooled by these party pics from the tea room- there was plenty of champagne flowing as well!} What a great way to end the year- with our fabulous team. Thanks so much for all that you do- Angela, Kate, Terra, and Kadie! We wouldn’t be Ruby Press without you! And to our blog readers- we may not have met the majority of you, but we feel like we know you. Thanks so much for checking in with us each day and for your sweet and thoughtful comments! We’re all really looking forward to a wonderful 2010 together!
xxMelissa and Sam
P.S. Wanna see the photos I took at the party on my iPhone? {These professional shots are from the fabulous Kristen Loken!} Follow me on Twitter- I’ll be posting them today!

If anyone is scrambling to buy a VERY last-minute Christmas gift, allow me point you in the right direction. I’ve been dying to check out photographer Lauren Dukoff’s book Family since it released a few months ago. It features candid yet striking shots of musicians Devendra Banhart, Joanna Newsom, Entrance, Bat for Lashes, Vetiver, and many more–an incredibly creative “family” of folks that are pretty stylish both on and off the stage.

Over the years, I’ve amassed quite a collection of Russian doll ornaments. Every time I pull one out while trimming the tree, it puts a smile on my face. I love this shot of these sweet painted dolls!

Okay, when I started reading this post about Birdbath taking over the old Vesuvio Bakery space, I almost cried- but when I read a little further down and learned that out of respect for this iconic 89 year old New York City Bakery, Birdbath {a green bakery} kept the entire facade intact {including signage!!} my frown turned into a huge smile! Bravo Birdbath!!

{A vintage postcard of Vesuvio! Now really, how many bakeries get their own postcard? If you don’t live in NYC, you may still recognize this storefront- it’s been included in many fashion shoots over the years. Image from here.}
I’ve been looking for a new cocktail to make for the holidays and I think I found it! Food Network’s host Claire Robinson prepares beautiful dishes with a French influence-all with 5 ingredients or less. This is her recipe for clementine cosmos…
Ingredients
3 clementines, plus 1 very thinly sliced, for garnish
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2/3 cup cranberry juice
1/3 cup lime juice
1 1/2 cups vanilla flavored vodka {recommend: Grey Goose}
Cut the clementines into quarters and squeeze their juice into a saucepan. Add the sugar, water and clementine flesh and bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes. Pour into a strainer set over a measuring cup, pressing on the solids to remove as much liquid as possible. Discard the solids, cool the liquid to room temperature and pour into a pitcher. Add the cranberry juice, lime juice and vodka and stir well. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Put 6 or 8 martini glasses in the freezer.
To serve, pour the mixture into an ice-filled cocktail shaker and shake until very cold. Pour into the chilled martini glasses and garnish each with a clementine slice. Drink up and enjoy!

A new fashion PR website- www.fashionpr.com- based out of the UK has included a profile of me on their website! It just recently launched, but it seems like it will be a great place for fashion companies find PR agencies and for publicists to find jobs or create community with the fashion PR forum. {You may need to create an account, but it only takes a few seconds.}
Thanks Fashion PR! xx
