Madeleine Vionnet

It doesn’t take much to get me daydreaming about Paris – any mention of croissants, arrondissements, and the metro gets me buzzing.  Not sure when my next trip will be, but I wish I was there RIGHT NOW to check out the new exhibit at Les Arts Décoratifs, Madeleine Vionnet, puriste de la mode. A plane ticket to Paris might be worth seeing over 130 of the pioneering couturier’s remarkable works that transformed fashion in the early 20th century (hello bias cut!).  I might not be able to make it, so to all you lucky travelers, let me know how fabulous all the dresses are in real life!

Ruby Slippers

If you’re lucky enough to be in LA in the upcoming week, make sure to check out the “Ruby Slipper Collection and Inspirations of Oz” exhibition at FIDM.  Students designed Dorothy-inspired shoes and jewelry that are all now on display at the school located in downtown LA.
