Only the beginning…

I have read more than one depressing “goodbye summer” posts in the last day or two….  Luckily, here in Northern California, we’re just getting started!  {Sorry, I don’t mean to rub it in!}  Our summers start getting hot in August and go through the end of October.  For a summer-lover like me, that’s a great thing.  Hope you’re having a fun long weekend!!  xx

Ici

I was just talking to a friend about Ici, the most charming ice cream shop here in Berkeley. She is moving into an apartment just blocks away, and I’m insanely jealous.

The shop is charming but spare (just the way I like it). The ice cream is interesting and delicious (again, just the way I like it). Gingersnap, rose pistachio, malted milk…you get the idea.

We Scream for Ice Cream!

One of the reasons we were so excited to have our office in downtown Berkeley was the plethora of lunch options. What we didn’t realize, however, was the abundance of frozen treats in the area! There is Gelateria Naia, Gelato Milano (which just turned into Almare), Cold Stone Creamery, and Yogurt Harmony- all within a 4 block radius!)

We Ruby Press girls each have our favorites…

I like Gelateria Naia’s rose and meyer lemon gelatos best.

Angela’s loves Yogurt Harmony’s plain tart flavor with strawberries and almonds.

Becca is crazy about Cold Stone’s Founder’s Favorite mix.

And Christine has developed as serious addition to all of Yogurt Harmony’s frozen yogurt, which is similar to her Southern California favorite, Pinkberry.
