Crosby Street Hotel

If you’re a long-time reader of the Ruby Press blog, you’ll know how much we love fancy hotels! Our latest fave is the Crosby Street Hotel in Soho. With an unmistakeably eclectic British influence, fresh blooms in every suite, afternoon tea, and rooftop “mini meadow,” what’s not to love?  For more info, check out this article in Metropolis magazine.  We can’t wait to pay this fabulous spot a visit!

Rubie Green NYC party

Just got photos back from our Rubie Green event in New York earlier this month and thought you’d like to see a few!  Michelle Adams, founder and designer of Rubie Green, shared her eco-style tips with guests while sipping fair trade and organic wines and nibbling on yummy organic sweets.  Calypso Home invited us to have the party at their Soho store, and the stylish space was filled with a mix of chic editors, bloggers and Rubie Green fans.

The Jane

I kinda freaked out when I heard about this chic new budget hotel in NYC’s West Village…how great for when you want loads of style but don’t have the deep pockets that NYC boutique hotels usually call for!

This is the lounge area, but click here for rooms- which have a vintage maritime feel and seem to start at a mere $79!  {The catch- you have to share a hallway bathroom, but hey, the Europeans do it all the time and look how chic they are!}

Home in New York

Have you ever stayed at a hotel that is so chic you wish it was home and so warm and friendly you think, for a minute, that you ARE home?  We have stayed at City Club Hotel {in convenient midtown Manhattan} for about 4 years now, and each time we arrive I am amazed at how truly wonderful the staff is.  From the manager to the bell boys, they make you feel like their most important guest.  I actually thought that we were their only guests the first few nights we were there and was shocked to learn they were sold out!  With 63 rooms that are impossibly stylish, they are the best NYC hotel I have ever stayed in.  And I’ve stayed in many…

P.S. See you next time Lauren, Carol, Emanuel, Edwin, Jeff, Joseph, Ray, and all of my other City Club friends that I’m forgetting!  xx

Dumpling Man, here I come!

It’s a good thing the Dumpling Man didn’t exist when I lived in New York…it’s just 2 blocks from my old apartment, which would definitely make me a bonafide addict.

Whenever I’m in NYC, I always go to this tiny little dumpling emporium for the freshest (you watch the dumplings being made right there!), yummiest dumplings. I can never choose between all my favorites, so I usually get way too many. (But I do leave happy!) I love their sauces too- Cold Monster might be my favorite, but Hot Monster is so good too… How to choose?

I can’t wait until Angela and I are in NY to scarf some down!
