Trove’s John Robshaw Event

If you live in the Bay Area, you’re in luck!  We’re throwing an event- an ‘Indian Shopping Soiree’ celebrating John Robshaw- with Trove on August 12th, from 5 to 8 pm and you’re invited!  {See details below.}  Just RSVP and make sure you say you saw the invite on the Ruby Press Blog.

Not familiar with Trove??  It’s an insider secret- an amazing home decor and furniture outlet in Berkeley, right off Gilman Street. I’ve bought so many chic things there…

I’ll be there with the fabulous Ruby Press team- hope to meet you at the party!

xxMelissa

P.S. The invite was designed by the fabulous Liz Siverts!

Guest Blogging on Silver Lining…

Our very first Ruby Press employee {almost ten years ago!!} was a dear girl named Sylvia…stylish, sweet, and smart, I just adore her. She has a charming blog called Silver Lining and she asked me to do a guest post for her, which just went up this morning…

Thanks so much for the invite Syl- it means a lot! xx

Off to New York…and High Point!

Angela and I are heading off to our semi-annual NY trip this weekend- we’ll be meeting with national magazine editors to show them our clients’ lines over the span of three days.  Of course we’re staying at the incomparable City Club Hotel- our home away from home!  After that trip, I’ll be heading to the High Point furniture trade show in North Carolina- my first time and I’m really excited to go with our client Elite Leather!  If you’re going, comment here and let me know!  I’d love to meet you!

Spring at Ruby Press!

Spring is in the air, and here at Ruby Press we all have spring fever!  {How can you not when the flowers are blooming, the days are lasting longer {so we can enjoy some sunshine after work!}, and the warm air is wafting through our office windows?}

Spring at Ruby Press also means three new interns!  Chasa, Jamie, and Sammie are the newest members of our team and we’re so excited to have them with us!  Keep an eye open for blog posts from them in the coming weeks!  xx

Put on your dancing shoes and join the party!

The Twitter party, that is!  I have been urging my friends and clients to join us on Twitter- it’s really like a fun cocktail party where you can chat with friends and make new ones!  Drop by whenever you like, see pretty things, have a laugh, and wake up the next morning without a nasty hangover!  Today I reached an even 1,000 followers on Twitter and I am truly honored and tickled that you {my Twitter friends} have joined me! If you haven’t yet, find me here.

We’re hiring!

We have an intern position open here at Ruby Press! Ideally, starting in late February or early March.  The internship lasts six months and we’re looking for someone who can commit 3 days a week.

This is an unpaid position, but it’s a fantastic opportunity to get your foot in the door, whether you want to get into fashion/lifestyle PR or the editorial world.  {Just ask our past interns!}

If you’re interested in the position, please email Sam at sam@rubypr.com, and include a cover letter and resume.  {But please, oh please, don’t send them as attachments.  Only in the body of the email.  We’ve gotten too many viruses that way.}  And good luck!
