West Coast Love…

Jen from The Haystack Needle blog asked me if I’d contribute a guest post to her blog for the this week, and of course I obliged!!  The theme is West Coast Love, and my post is about what I love about San Francisco…  Check it out here!  Thanks Jen!  xx

American Cupcake

How is it that the cupcake trend has been going strong for over ten years now?  I’m always amazed… and am currently dying to check out the new American Cupcake in San Francisco.  Lynn from Paris Hotel Boutique told me she thought of me when she wrote this post.  Cotton candy cupcakes, bubblegum cupcakes…so up my alley!  {Lynn knows me well!}

Bump It Up

Attention all pregnant readers in the SF Bay Area!  We are working with style expert/author Amy Tara Koch on her upcoming Bump It Up book signing/party at the W Hotel on May 26th and take it from me, a woman with a 13 lb pregnant belly!, this will be an event not to miss!

I’ve read the book and it’s the cutest guide to staying your chic self while your belly is rapidly expanding…sketches from great designers like Donna Karan and DVF, as well as tips from NY fashion editors, some of them, coincidentally, my old friends!

Of course Amy {who is hilarious, by the way} will be signing books, but there will also be pampering spa treatments from Bliss Spa, skincare treats from Mama Mio, a “Faux Glow” bar from Lancome {Amy swears that the ‘pregnancy glow’ is an urban legend!}, bra fitting and “4th trimester” shapewear seminar brought to you by Wacoal, car seat and stroller demos by Britax, and of course yummy treats in the way of cupcakes from Sprinkles and delish mocktails.

{Just RVSP to rsvpwsfevents@whotels.com to join us- I’ll be there!  And you don’t have to be pregnant to come, of course…}

Market Street in 1905

I have always dreamt of being able to go back and live in another time, and this film taken from a streetcar driving down Market Street in San Francisco gives me the feeling of doing just that!  I love the chaos of the street- and all of the characters you see from the streetcar!  {That’s the Ferry Building at the very end!} Thanks for sending me here, Tablehopper!

Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale

This weekend San Francisco hosts the Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Sale at Fort Mason.  I’ve attended the last two fairs held during the summer, and Bay Area folks can now score last-minute holiday gifts in the first-ever December event {trust me, it’s impossible to walk away empty-handed.}  The selection of crafts is enormous, and everything is top-notch quality {but totally affordable!}. Sweetening the deal even more, it’s free to attend!

Ladies of SF

I’ve recently come across some great blogs by stylish SF women that take a personal approach to their blogs…

Oh Hello: I haven’t officially met Logan, but this adorable San Franciscan’s blog {and her shot of her brushing her teeth} puts a smile on my face.

And The Wife of an Artist is a lover of food, fonts and fashion and I am right there with her.

Found in San Francisco

Stylish SF interior designers Caitlin Moran and Tyler Dawson own the most charming shop called Found, a sort of chic design halfway house for ”rediscovered objects”.  They scour the city {and beyond} for that perfect umbrella stand or buffet so you don’t have to.  And leave your shopping guilt at the door- after all, these covetable finds are vintage, a.k.a. recycled and reused.

Click here to see what’s in store now- and sign up for updates on their website and don’t miss a thing.

Candystore Collective

Before heading over to the Blog Out Loud event I stopped by one of my favorite boutiques in the city, Candystore Collective.  {Local and indie designers, vintage, and of course candies.}  And wouldn’t you know I found a perfectly fitting navy and white pineapple printed sundress {vintage} for a mere $38?  Sometimes it’s just meant to be.
