Immediately following the pink carpet LA premiere of Sofia Coppola’s new film Marie Antoinette at Hollywood’s ArcLight Theatre, Ruby Press threw a decadent, Chanel-sponsored fete at the legendary Chateau Marmont. The lobby and garden of the iconic hotel were completely transformed into Marie Antoinette’s Versailles after a specially installed large black and white checkered ballroom floor was laid down and the resident vintage furnishings were loaded onto trucks and replaced with Louis XIV, XV, and XVI chaises and settees, period rugs, gilded mirrors, crystal chandeliers, candelabras. Marble side tables were also brought in and decorated with stunning arrangements of garden roses and gardenias. An elegant canopy was erected in the garden to cover a decadent dessert banquet replete with tiered layers of extravagant sweets, including white chocolate boxes filled with berries, pastel French macaroons, rich chocolate bouchons, lemon meringue tartlets, cotton candy and mini pink and lavender cupcakes.
The film’s stars Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartman and director Sofia Coppola celebrated with fellow VIP guests including Drew Barrymore, Penelope Cruz, Orlando Bloom, Angelica Houston, Mischa Barton, Ione Skye, James Franco, The Strokes, Pedro Almadovar, Baz Luhrman, Kirsty Hume, Donovan Leitch, Ellen von Unwerth, Andre Balazs, Elle Macpherson, and Liz Goldwyn. Guests sipped Perrier Jouet’s Fleur de Champagne in the garden and danced to DJ Stonerokk’s mix of 80’s new wave and 70’s glam rock in the pink hued rooms of the Chateau until 2 in the morning.

The response was enthusiastic: seventeen national and regional press hits resulted, including coverage in outlets W, WWD, Daily Variety, Style.com and Hollywood Report.
