Castle in the Air’s Victorian Paper Toys

As seen on UPPERCASE Magazine’s blog, the team at  Castle in the Air has added over 250 Victorian paper toys, models, scenes and games from owner Karima Cammell’s personal collection! The giclee reprints bring the French Pellerin company’s 100+ year old designs back to life- and we think they are just gorgeous.  {Pop on over to UPPERCASE for an exclusive free Victorian model download from Castle in the Air!}

If you’re like me, when you’re creating something, the time just flies!  This past weekend, I took a class at Castle in the Air, along with Becca, Erica, Maia, Angela, Katie, and Angela and learned how to make my own pajaki- a gorgeous paper chandelier of sorts!  John McRae, our charming and talented instructor, led the way, and I have to say, the 11-6 class just flew by!  Now which class to take next??  {And, perhaps more importantly, where to hang my pajaki??}

Mouse Castle!

What are the holidays without amazing store windows?  You certainly don’t have to go to NYC for over-the-top, magical Christmas displays.  Our client Castle in The Air on Berkeley’s 4th Street does it RIGHT.  Check out the entire store and their ‘mouse castle’ here on Honestly WTF today, which includes over 30 handmade mice {nice way to recycle a vintage fur coat, right?} each dressed as characters and an unbelievably charming structure composed of vintage and found objects.  Created by resident artists John McRae and Ulla Milbrath, their over 300 hours of work certainly paid off!

A Festive Friday night in Berkeley

Here at Ruby Press, we are already in the Christmas mood {yep, we are listening to Christmas music already!}, so this couldn’t come at a better time…

Come visit Berkeley’s creativity emporium, Castle in the Air, this Friday evening {5 to 7pm} and join us in celebrating their holiday windows {they are known for them!} and all of the Christmas merchandise in the store.  Meet Castle in the Air owner Karima Cammill and co-host Honestly…WTF‘s Erica Chan- and of course we’ll be there sipping a little bubbly and shopping at a discount {25% off all merchandise except vintage} too!
