We’re back!

Our semi-annual press trip to NYC was a great success!  Thank you to all you editors who took time out of your busy days to come see us.

A trip to NYC wouldn’t be complete without a little play time off-hours of course- which meant a quick trip up to Laduree {the orange blossom macarons were crazy good!}, discovering Joe Fresh around the corner from the hotel {um, I got the cutest stripey boatneck tees for $16 each!}, dinner at Pulino’s {Keith McNally’s equally delicious and handsome pizza joint}, and visit to ABC Home {obsessed with the Scents of Land neroli candle I picked up there}.  And of course, our home away from home, City Club Hotel was perfection, as always.  Until next time, NYC!  xx

So much to tell….

Kate and I were in NYC last week for our semi-annual press appointments {thanks so much to the 50+ editors we saw in three fun-filled days for coming to see us and our clients!} and I feel so behind with the blog!  To catch you up on this past week…

Crosby at PR Couture did a sweet feature on our office with a Q&A you won’t find anywhere else!

{Oh, and while we were in NYC, Sam pulled up the article about our office in an old 1919 edition of Architects and Engineers magazine at the New York public library!  So cool.}

I had a chance to check out Chris Burch’s {yep, Tory’s ex} new fashion and home emporium C.Wonder in New York’s SoHo- and ran into my sweet friend Cassandra from Coco+Kelley!

{More more info and loads of great photos of the store, check out my friend Marisa’s great blog post!}

Ate our way through New York, as usual….Pastis, The Oyster Bar at Grand Central, DB Moderne, Eataly, and my new fave, Peels, where even little Sammy went crazy over the warm, doughy, salt crusted Parker house rolls!

Sadly, we were way too busy to hit Laduree (next time!) and some of our usual favorite spots…  Glad to be home but I miss that crisp fall NYC air already!

P.S. We also have a fun new client to tell you about…stay tuned!

American Girl in Paris

Meet Haleigh, the blogger behind Bardot in Blue.  She’s a California girl who now lives in Paris {my dream!}  Having just recently finished her studies at American University of Paris and living in the Marais, Haleigh shares her Parisian life with those who visit her blog.  From shopping, travelling, and enjoying treats from Laduree, I simply adore seeing Paris through her eyes.

Making French Macaroons…

I can’t believe that I came across this post on Mowielicious about making French macaroons by hand…  I was just at home visiting my parents and my mom has been craving macaroons ever since she got back from Paris and had her first taste at Laduree.  {And what a place to have your first macaroon!}  They live in Northern Virginia and it’s surprisingly difficult to find them in their area.  We did end up finding some at an unexpected spot {and they were imported from France, but not as light and airy as we would have liked}, so I started thinking that maybe we should try and make our own!  Have any of you taken the leap and tried to make them at home?  I consider myself a pretty good baker, and was thinking about making them over the holidays, but after reading this post must admit I’m a tad scared!
