Holiday decor

I’ve always lived in pretty tiny apartments with limited resources for Christmas decorating, and it usually makes me a little sad around this time that the most festive thing in my house is a DVD of Home Alone. That’s why I loved this idea from Remodelista for a simple, beautiful collage of greenery, photos, and Christmas cards. Easy, inexpensive, and so pretty!

Foraged flowers in Hayes Valley

I was checking out one of my favorite sites, Remodelista, this morning, and read about floral artist Louesa Roebuck’s beautiful new shop on Hayes Street in San Francisco. Part of a shared space with In Bed, H.D. Buttercup’s organic bed linen store, she’ll offer ceramics and pottery alongside displays of her foraged flowers. I want to live in here!

A little craft project…

The last time I did crafting of any kind was probably around 1994 at a Girl Scouts meeting. But I stumbled onto a photo of these awesome twine-wrapped bottles on by Laura Parke on Remodelista, and I can’t wait to try making them. After I master those (and since I’ll have all that leftover twine!), I have my eyes set on these cool, Proenza Schouler-inspired rope necklaces by the lovely Erica Chan of Honestly WTF.
