Louis Chairs

We are finally ready to part with our pale blue Louis chairs here in the Ruby Press office.  Ever since Cassandra featured our office almost 4 years ago, we have had so many inquiries about them.  {I bought them from- get this!!- Pottery Barn Teen- a million years ago!}  I will sell them locally on craigslist this week- but if you want them and live nearby, let me know!  {Blog readers get first dibs!}

We’ll miss you Angela!

Yesterday was Angela’s last day and we will all miss seeing her in the office every day, but certainly won’t lose touch with her as she will always be a part of the Ruby Press family…

Thank you so, so much Angela for your dedication and hard work over the past 4 and a half years.  {Not to mention all of your inspiring blog posts!!}  Our business -and our clients’- are better for it!

We will all miss you!!

New York bound

It’s time again for our semi-annual New York press preview trip and Kate and I {Melissa is sitting this one out as she just had a baby!} are buzzing with excitement! We’ll be meeting with national magazine editors to show our clients’ spring 2011 lineups at our home away from home… the very chic and incredibly cozy City Club Hotel. I can’t wait to visit some of my favorite NYC spots and share them with Kate! Any suggestions for places we shouldn’t miss? What are your favorite NYC haunts?

Trove’s John Robshaw Event

If you live in the Bay Area, you’re in luck!  We’re throwing an event- an ‘Indian Shopping Soiree’ celebrating John Robshaw- with Trove on August 12th, from 5 to 8 pm and you’re invited!  {See details below.}  Just RSVP and make sure you say you saw the invite on the Ruby Press Blog.

Not familiar with Trove??  It’s an insider secret- an amazing home decor and furniture outlet in Berkeley, right off Gilman Street. I’ve bought so many chic things there…

I’ll be there with the fabulous Ruby Press team- hope to meet you at the party!

P.S. The invite was designed by the fabulous Liz Siverts!

P.P.S. Did you know we offer boutique services?  Read about our ‘retail therapy’ services here!

Off to New York…and High Point!

Angela and I are heading off to our semi-annual NY trip this weekend- we’ll be meeting with national magazine editors to show them our clients’ lines over the span of three days.  Of course we’re staying at the incomparable City Club Hotel- our home away from home!  After that trip, I’ll be heading to the High Point furniture trade show in North Carolina- my first time and I’m really excited to go with our client Elite Leather!  If you’re going, comment here and let me know!  I’d love to meet you!

Spring at Ruby Press!

Spring is in the air, and here at Ruby Press we all have spring fever!  {How can you not when the flowers are blooming, the days are lasting longer {so we can enjoy some sunshine after work!}, and the warm air is wafting through our office windows?}

Spring at Ruby Press also means three new interns!  Chasa, Jamie, and Sammie are the newest members of our team and we’re so excited to have them with us!  Keep an eye open for blog posts from them in the coming weeks!  xx

Put on your dancing shoes and join the party!

The Twitter party, that is!  I have been urging my friends and clients to join us on Twitter- it’s really like a fun cocktail party where you can chat with friends and make new ones!  Drop by whenever you like, see pretty things, have a laugh, and wake up the next morning without a nasty hangover!  Today I reached an even 1,000 followers on Twitter and I am truly honored and tickled that you {my Twitter friends} have joined me! If you haven’t yet, find me here.

We’re off!

We ended 2009 with the Ruby Press Christmas Party at Crown & Crumpet yesterday…yay!!  {And don’t be fooled by these party pics from the tea room- there was plenty of champagne flowing as well!}  What a great way to end the year- with our fabulous team.  Thanks so much for all that you do- Angela, Kate, Terra, and Kadie!  We wouldn’t be Ruby Press without you!  And to our blog readers- we may not have met the majority of you, but we feel like we know you.  Thanks so much for checking in with us each day and for your sweet and thoughtful comments!  We’re all really looking forward to a wonderful 2010 together!

xxMelissa and Sam
